What to do in… Monaco?

Monaco

Today I want to tell you something about Monaco, a small principality located between france and italy right at the mediterranean sea. As you can see on the picture above its the only little place where you will find all the skycrapers in one place… there is no other place on the coast where you could find any skyscrapers.

Monaco is a beautiful place – once you are there you cant take off your eyes of all the luxury thats happening around you. You will find luxury at every corner – for example while walking around the port you will spot the most beautiful boats and yachts in the world, while relaxing a day in a fancy beachclub like Nikki Beach at the rooftop of the Faimont hotel, or if you just walk around and see all the 5 star hotels (mostly a skyscraper with a nice rooftop pool and bar). The casino is also one of the most famous ones in the world.

BTW did you know that the James Bond Movie “Casino Royale” took place in the Casino in Monaco?

As it is all so endlessy luxurious its not a surprise if you pay 25 € for a water in a bar or a nightclub! But no worries, mostly you get any drink you want for 25 € so you can also order a cocktail or something other expensive for the same price. I know its still not cheap, but remember you are in Monaco and going out there in the night is definetly an experience worth it. You will see what I mean once you are there.

Besides all of the luxury Monaco has to offer a few nice sights as well, you might want to check out during the day. I like the “Font Ville ” a lot. Its Monacos old town where you can also find the Princes Palace. I recommend doing a guided tour through the palace if you are there for the first time. They tell you all about the history of monaco and the architecture of the palast – its really interesting and the whole furnishings make you feel like you are in a different world. Its beautiful!

The place with all the guns right in front of the palace is also worth a visit. Especially at noon when the traditional dressed security staff changes – they have a small traditional parade and march going on.

All the small little boutiques and shops in the old town are definetly worth a visit afterwards – you will find some shopping treasures in some of them.

Thats not enough for now? Then check out the botanical garden on one of the hills, you will have a great view of the city! You can of course also visit the famous formula 1 route or the formula 1 museum. The popular car race takes place once a year in Monaco – always in May! In case you want to go – The atmosphere in Monaco is even more amazing and special during the car race. But of course its very crowded.

I hope my tipps will help you a little bit for your next trip to Monaco! I can really highly recommend going there at least once. Because its so small you wont need more than 2 days to experience everything.

Has someone of you already been to monaco? If so, how did you like it? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
